Kim Gauthier-LeBreton began her career with Beaudry, Bertrand over 10 years ago. She practices as part of the family law and international child abduction team under the Hague Convention.

Having earned her law degree in both Civil Litigation (LL.L) and in Common Law (LL.B) from the University of Ottawa, Kim Gauthier-LeBreton is an active member of the Quebec Bar Association since 2010.

Education

In 2007, while studying at the University of Ottawa, Kim Gauthier-LeBreton received the Ronald St-John MacDonald award which is attributed to the team having reached first place for the drafting of factums in the Canadian qualifications for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

She participated in a summer session of private international law at the Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands thus familiarizing herself with the different regulations of foreign origin.

Family Law

Kim Gauthier-Lebreton now practices in family law and appears on a regular basis before the Superior court and Family Court, more precisely regarding:

  • Custody;
  • Support (children an spouse);
  • Divorces (family patrimony and matrimonial regime);
  • Separation from bed and board;

She also appeared before the Court of Appeal of Quebec, the highest Court in the province of Quebec.

Involvement

Ms Gauthier-LeBreton is a member of the executive committee of the Outaouais Association for Lawyers in Family Law as president.

Always happy to be involved in the community, she has participated in several major charitable events, including her participation in 2017 in "Opération Groenland" for the benefit of "Opération Enfant Soleil" as well as her participation to the "24h de Tremblant" since a few years.

Kim Gauthier-LeBreton is a lecturer at Ottawa University.

Achievements

Ms Gauthier-LeBreton was the 2018 recipient of the Futurum Legis Award presented to a juriste to recognize her distinction on the professional, personal and social level.
