Pierre McMartin joined the Beaudry, Bertrand team in November 1981 where he began as an articling student. He has been a partner since 1985 and is a member of the Administrative Committee of Beaudry, Bertrand. As an experienced lawyer, he participated in several commercial and fiscal transactions cases in the Outaouais region. Mr. McMartin acts on behalf of the business community and for the City of Gatineau, representing them before the Superior Court, administrative tribunals et the Appeals Court in multiple civil, commercial and administrative cases.
Before the municipal fusion, Mr. McMartin represented the City of Hull for many years before the former Régie des alcools in all bars and restaurant files. He was responsible for expropriation files for the STO and for the City of Hull and has provided legal opinions to the City of Hull regarding commercial and real estate law.
Education
Mr. McMartin obtained his law degree from the University of Ottawa (1980), was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1981. In 1986, He obtained a master’s degree in business law from the University of Ottawa.
Areas of Practice
Mr. McMartin focuses his practice in business law, civil litigation, estates, construction, bankruptcy and expropriation. He also practices in real estate law, fiscal law, banking law and civil responsibility law.
Involvements
Mr. McMartin is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Gatineau and is also involved in real estate. He is a great sportsman and has climbed Kilimandjaro in December 2006, the Aconcagua, Argentina (the highest mountain in America) in January 2008, Mount Elbruss in Russia in July 2010 (the highest peak in Europe). He has participated in many cross-country ski Loppets, namely the Keskinada (55 km) and the Vassalopet (90 km) in Sweden, the Canadian Ski Marathon (160 km) for which he won the bronze medal.

Born in Bedford, Quebec, Colette Sabourin completed her studies in the Outaouais region and has over the years developed a vast network of contacts and friends. She takes great pride in preserving family ties and friendships by holding gatherings at her home.
A very proud mother of three children, she has been married for over thirty years to Notary Gilles Laflamme who is widely known in the Outaouais region. Ms. Sabourin is an advocate for close family ties in a healthy environment based on respect and trust.
Family Law Specialist
It is her drive to maintain life in a healthy environment that motivated her early in her career to concentrate her practice towards family law. She represents men and women who are involved in family conflicts. Separation, divorce, negotiations, sharing of family property, child custody, temporary measures, division of family property are all situations where her legal knowledge (more than thirty years) has made a difference.
Education
In 1972, Ms. Sabourin obtained a bachelor’s degree in administration. While studying in administration, she focused her studies in accounting thus providing her with a solid background in preparing financial statements and other accounting documents which are a very important asset of family law litigation. A grant for academic excellence was awarded to her for her studies in this field. After having obtained a bachelor’s degree in common law(1977) where she concentrated her studies in taxation, Ms. Sabourin then obtained her licence in civil law (LL.L) from the University of Ottawa. Her name appeared was on the Dean’s List because of her academic excellence and she went on to complete the following year her studies at l’École de formation professionnelle du Barreau du Québec and became an accredited lawyer in the province of Quebec.

Ms. Sabourin is a member of the Quebec Association for Lawyer in Family Law and of the Association for Lawyers in Family Law of the Hull Bar for which she was a member of the administration council from 2002 to 2006.

With more than thirty years of legal experience, Mr. Guy Bélanger joined Beaudry, Bertrand in January 1996. He focuses his practice in the field of insurance law, municipal law, criminal and penal law and also acts as a mediator. In 2002 and 2003, he rendered more than one hundred decisions as an arbitrator in collective labour agreements.
Education
With a bachelor’s degree in administration and specializing in accounting from the University of Ottawa, Mr. Bélanger further obtained a licence in legal writing and was then called to the Bar. In 1989, Mr. Bélanger earned a degree from the Arbitration Institute at McGill University.

Darquise Jolicoeur began her law career in 1991 and has been a partner at Beaudry, Bertrand for more than ten years. She specializes in civil and commercial litigation and has also appeared before the Court of Appeal, which is the highest court in the province of Quebec.
Ms. Jolicoeur has been recognized for her many important environmental cases which she successfully plead before the courts. She set legal precedents before the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal with the first case regarding on the maintenance or removal of a dam which was presented to the courts.
Ms. Jolicoeur has also been very active in cases regarding fish farming, businesses that greatly have an impact on the environment and also various cases on the protection of the riverbank, without forgetting landfill site cases.
She intervened in numerous real estate transactions having environmental implications where she advised the seller or buyer.
Ms. Jolicoeur acts for municipalities, industrial and commercial companies as well as individuals who solicit her expertise. She advocates an approach based on problem prevention and rapid and proactive resolution once the problem occurs.
Ms. Jolicoeur is an accredited mediator by the Quebec Bar in civil and commercial matters

Joan Archer-Courcher joined the Beaudry, Bertrand team in January 1998. She practices as a researcher and legal writer specifically in municipal law, insurance law and civil liability.

Geneviève Bussières joined the Beaudry, Bertrand team in 2004 as a student. Having earned a licence in both civil law and common law from the University of Ottawa, she was hired as an articling student at the firm. She has been a member of the Quebec Bar Association since 2005 and has concentrated her practice in matrimonial law.
Areas of Practice
Ms. Bussières practices mainly in the area of family law. She appears on a regular basis before the Quebec tribunals, more particularly before the Superior Court and as a specialist in matrimonial affairs at the Family Division.
Education
Ms. Bussières has a degree from The National Program for the Common Law Section from the University of Ottawa. She earned a law degree in civil law (LL.L) in 2003 and a law degree in common law (LL.B.) in 2004. Ms. Bussières was admitted to the Quebec Bar Association after successfully completing her articles and courses from the Quebec Bar School.

Ariane Légère-Bordeleau joined the Beaudry, Bertrand team in January 2007. She practises in civil law and specializes in commercial, corporate and real estate law. She regularly appears before the Courts, namely the Court of Appeal of Quebec, the Superior Court of Quebec as well as the Court of Quebec.
Education
She was awarded a scholarship by the Faculty Law, Civil Law Section, of the University of Ottawa. During her university studies, she appeared on the Dean’s List for her outstanding results. Ms. Légère-Bordeleau earned her law degree (LL.L) with Magna Cum Laude distinction and achieved the 4-month accelerated training program at the Quebec Bar School.

Joëlle Maurais joined the Beaudry, Bertrand team in January 2009 as an articling student and upon earning her degree, became a junior lawyer in the firm. Her strong research capabilities and in-depth legal analysis led her to orient her practice in the civil law field thus working in litigations involving business and commercial law, municipal law and also questions of immovable, financing and bankruptcy law.
In 2008, Ms. Maurais earned her law degree in civil litigation at the University of Ottawa. During her university studies, she appeared on the Dean’s List for her outstanding results and graduated with honours. She was also admitted in the International Exchange Program and studied at Keel University, Great Britain, familiarizing herself in common law. Ms. Maurais completed the 4-month accelerated training program at the Quebec Bar School.

Alexandre Racine-Goyette joined the Beaudry, Bertrand team in January 2010 as an articling student and became a junior lawyer in the firm.
Mr. Racine-Goyette earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration (B.A.A. 2005) after completing his studies in industrial relations where he acquired a vast knowledge in employment law.
In 2008, he earned his law degree (LL.L) obtaining an honourable mention (Magna Cum Laude) and also appeared on the Dean’s List.
Mr. Racine-Goyette earned a bachelor’s degree in common law (LL.B) in 2009 and brilliantly succeeded in completing the 4-month accelerated training program at the Quebec Bar School.
Mr. Racine-Goyette now practices in civil and administrative law and regularly appears before the Superior Court, the Quebec Court, the Municipal Court and administrative courts.

Benjamin Beauchamp joined the Beaudry, Bertrand team in January 2011 as a junior lawyer. He was also employed at the firm during his university studies. He practices in civil law and family law.
Mr. Beauchamp earned a bachelor’s degree in litigation from the University of Sherbrooke in 2008. He completed the training program at the Quebec Bar School.

Kim Gauthier-LeBreton joined the Beaudry, Bertrand team in 2009 as an articling student and then become a junior lawyer at the firm. Having earned her law degree in both Civil Litigation (LL.L) and in Common Law (LL.B) from the University of Ottawa, Ms. Gauthier-LeBreton is an active member of the Quebec Bar Association.
In 2007, while studying at the University of Ottawa, Ms. Gauthier-LeBreton received the Ronald St-John MacDonald award which is attributed to the team having reached first place for the drafting of factums in the Canadian qualifications for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
Ms. Gauthier-LeBreton participated in a summer session of private international law at the Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands thus familiarizing herself with the different regulations of foreign origin.
Ms. Gauthier-Lebreton now practices in family law and appears on a regular basis before the Superior court and Family Court.
